ABOUT ME

My professional journey began in education, working with children, young people and families. Over time, I became increasingly interested in emotional health and wellbeing, and the importance of relationships, connection and feeling truly understood.

Alongside my professional experience, my own experiences of counselling and coaching through grief and loss, anxiety, relational difficulties and motherhood deepened my understanding of how valuable it can be to have someone alongside you when life feels difficult. These experiences inspired me to train as a counsellor and coach.

Outside of my work, I'm a mum who enjoys spending time with the people I love. I find being in nature restorative, love reading and exploring new places, and have a particular love of music, especially its ability to express things that words sometimes can't.

“Self-acceptance is actually the soil in which we can grow, heal, and change.”

Dr. Alison Cook, The Best of You podcast

MY APPROACH

My approach

My work is person-centred at its heart, drawing on an integrative way of working that is shaped around you, your experiences and what feels most helpful for you. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and that our work together should reflect your individual needs.

I draw on elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt and Psychodynamic approaches. Each offers a different way of understanding our thoughts, feelings, experiences and patterns, and I may draw on different elements depending on what feels most relevant to you.

I also enjoy working creatively and can incorporate visual and practical resources into our sessions where this feels helpful. This might include images, cards, drawing, writing or other creative exercises to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences. Sometimes, using something visual or practical can offer a different way into a conversation, particularly when something feels difficult to put into words. I hope to offer a space where you feel able to explore your thoughts and experiences with trust, honesty and acceptance, at a pace that feels right for you.
